Cigars
Well might as well do it right and dedicate a thread to this subject.
Guys English is my third language so my spelling and grammar is not that good at all, hope you can bare with me.
Well as mentioned I am a dedicated cigarsmoker/lover and this is a big part of my life. The more I learn the more I understand how little I know.
I smoke 99% CCs(Cuban cigars) and 1% NCs (non cubans).
The reason is I want balance in a cigar...it can not be one dimensional and it has to taste more than just peper and dirt/soil.
The first years of my smoking I pretty much smoked NCs only and mostly the big RG(ring guage) stuff that looked "cool" and with time to make this a short story I wanted more than a cigar that looked cool and my understanding of "cool" changed.
Sadly in the world of cigars vintage is used freely and vendors can use it how ever they want but a common understanding is vintage regarding cigars is age......while some can call a 4 year old cigar vintage Imo IT need 10-15 years and before that it is aged.
Guys I am in no way an expert...few men on the planet are but I love ccs...I devote a lot of time to it, go abroad to cigardinners and buy what I can afford to get an understanding of how the vintage stuff tasted..to know the true profile and flavor of the brands and do as much as I can but just enough so it is fun.
Feel free to ask and I will do my very best to answer.....if there is anything you dont want to ask on open forum shoot me a pm.

Re: Cigars
Big Cuban cigar fan over here. For me, a "vintage cigar" should be at least 20 years old. '97-01 cigars that are still available are quite hit or miss. Green box Sir Winstons? Ramon Allones Coronas, Don Candidos, Dunhill Monte No. 2's... must bow down. ![NotWorthy [notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/notworthy.gif)

One of the best cigars I have smoked that you might enjoy is this Diplo 6, almost imposible to find sadly.
I have never had bad luck with 97-98. Construction issues with 99-01 was terrible but even then I have had some great luck with Cohoba lanceros from 2001.

So favorite marca?

I too am a fan of Cuban cigars. I still have a few from when I lived overseas, some are pushing 20 years old. Big fan of Hoyo's.

My current favorites are Punch Super Selection, any Laguito No. 2, RA Gigantes, Punch DC's, Sir Winstons, Upmann No. 2's, VR Unicos... The more I think about it, the longer the list gets, but not too long.

Re: Cigars
BEN, or anyone else, any suggestions on what to look for in America? I'll smoke a cigar 3-4 times a year, but have had great success with lower end Davidoffs, Arturo Fuentes, and actually Brickhouse as well in the past, and I lean towards darker smokes.

Only Ncs I smoke are opus x, Hemingway Maduro and god of fire.Bradley Bogdan wrote:BEN, or anyone else, any suggestions on what to look for in America? If you are looking for CCs just shoot me a pm. I can tell you a story about how some people buy CCs in the states.

Re: Cigars
Not so many recent ones. It's more difficult to get Cubanos in the US and the prices have escalated so much, even more than wine! I have a few Edmundos and some Cohiba maduros.

Re: Cigars
For Non-Cuban cigars, I really like the Upmann Cameroon wrapper cigars. Come in many sizes. You named the other two big ones AF and Davidoff. AF Don Carlos is a classic and well priced compared to Opus which I find usually over-hyped.Bradley Bogdan wrote:BEN, or anyone else, any suggestions on what to look for in America?
