It is Wine Auction Week in Napa. Wine Sales 101 would dictate doing an offer of California Cabernet or some such thing, and regaling you with stories of cult wines and crazy auction lots. So naturally, I will offer you Port. Why? Because after sifting through three days of offers locally and in Europe, we found a crazy-good buy on Niepoort, and just this AM bought all we could. That's how we roll.

2009 is a spectacular vintage for Port. And this is a spectacular price. The wine is arriving THIS WEEK. A classic to cellar for decades or drink young, whatever your pleasure. Sweet!

2009 Niepoort Vintage Port WS94, WE95!

Half-bottles: $35 (buy 3 or more and pay $29!) $348 a case!

Bottles: $65 (buy 3 or more and pay $59!) $354 a 6-pack!

Wooden cases on the half-bottles shipped on request (small extra fee). We CANNOT mix and match the discount - so to get the best pricing on each format you must buy at least 3 of each.

Best pricing in the country...while they last...

WE95: "A powerful, almost black-colored Port. It has the richness of the vintage allied to ripe blackberry flavors, and a mineral, tannic structure. Its great fruit makes it almost drinkable now, but aging will add so many more dimensions."

WS94: "Well-proportioned, with a good rush of tannins behind the dark cherry, dried blackberry and cocoa powder flavors. The taut finish is filled with slate and mineral, with some notes of white pepper. Best from 2016 through 2030."
