Decanted 24 Hours. Lush purple with maroon rim. Grapey nose with pepper and nutmeg. Upon tasting was lush yet spicy with slightly unripe plum, well bodied, a bit tannic. Finishes slightly hot. Plum and pepper linger. Has that same cooked rhubarb like finish that Romaneira has (that was my guess as tasted blind). I'd say this was quite good, but not great. Tied for WOTN versus other newbie ports.

Re: 2009 Pocas Vintage Port
I have not had many pocas or rom. ports--Is the rhubarb character offensive? Thanks
Re: 2009 Pocas Vintage Port
No. Just a particular flavor I always seem to pick up with Romaneira VP....and I got it with the Pocas. To me, its the signature flavor and I like it.
Honestly, we were tasting these blind but I new there was a 2007 Romaniera in the lineup and I thought for sure this was it. The Romaneira came right after it and had it, too. Still, I thought the Pocas was the Romaneira.
