I make an awesome goat cheese cheesecake with red wine grape compote, but it goes better with VP and doesn't travel well either. So you come to Colorado for that, and I'll come to Denmark for colheitas. I'm in a wine tasting group here and one of the members is from Denmark as well, and still has a home and cellar there.

Just found some VPs at a local grocery store on discount. The prices were OK but not great, so I talked the wine steward down quite a bit if I took four bottles:

1985 Smith Woodhouse VP
2000 Dow's VP
2003 Cockburn VP
2007 Graham's VP

$70 on the SW. $60 on the rest.

Soon some Sandeman Vau 1999 as they release it in Quebec for 25$ a bottle

Here in Edmonton the '99 Vau costs $35...........imagine, with Alberta having the lowest taxes on wine in all of Canada it costs more here in a privatized retail market than it does in the government monopoly in Quebec. How does that happen?

And since I'm on this thread I should mention that I found a few older bottles of 2000 Smith Woodhouse VP, in a small town, for only $38 - considering that the most recent vintage on the market is the 2011 VP, I have to believe that it was a very old price. It was the only VP in the store.

Ah, yes, they also had a single bottle of 2000 Sandeman's LBV (bottled in 2004) for $20 so I had to buy that one as well.
