From TCWC....$99.95/bottle; OWC if you purchase a case.

"Today we are pleased to offer a rare opportunity to purchase 26 year old Vintage Port with perfect provenance from one of the top Port houses. The parcel of 1985 Taylor offered below has just been released from the property's cellars where it has been stored since release. The wine is available in original wood cases with the purchase of a full case. Delivery is expected in the Fall assuring the wine will be available for the Holiday season."

Yikes that's expensive. It's not difficult to find the Graham or Fonseca in the $85 range, and either of those is much nicer than the Taylor.

I suppose some people will happily pay the premium for the perfect provenance, but that seems like a pretty steep premium to me.

Ya, it's on the expensive side, but 1985 Dow has been released from a local distributor's warehouse at $150 a bottle. The bottles are of perfect provenence, but $150 is a lot of money for that...

Aye caramba!!! $100/btl = awesome price in Canada... How sad is that??? [dash1.gif]

Has anyone had the 85 Taylor recently? Last I tried it, it was a muted sleeper, devoid of much of what makes Taylor a perennial favorite with many Port lovers. I can't afford the Canadian premium to try it again, just to hope that it is better.

Good at best, especially when paired with its sibling: Fonseca.

Ann,

How much Port do you see in Kenya and what kind of prices do you pay there?
