Vintaqge Port Game

Post by John M. »

Was poking around the Niepoort website and found "The Vintage Port Game" [shok.gif]

Has anyone seen this or played it? Sounds pretty funny to me--I hope this includes drinking port as you play but somehow I suspect that is not the case.

Never actually played it, but have seen it.

As to drinking while playing...would you ever consider playing such a game without drinking at the same time :drunk:

Yes, I advertised it at one time when it was first released to help bring some popularity to it. I hope it is selling well! [cheers.gif]

I agree with Andy, that playing this game while NOT drinking Port would defeat the purpose.

Well, what I'm really asking is is it a drinking game?

On the site mentioned above is an available (12 page) set of rules. It is NOT a drinking game (like Beer-Pong) where participation requires drinking. (You could certainly drink while playing, but my estimation is that excessive drinking would cause you to lose. It would require considerable memory and judgement.)

It seems to be a resource-allocation game like SimCity or many others of a similar type. You need to know, or learn, quite a bit about what it takes to produce and sell port wine.
