Do we think this is what Roy tasted as a cask sample with the Maynard's moniker?
I picked up two, as that is a pretty low risk. If I had more confidence in a tasting note, I might have gone for more.

yeah, wondering how good this might be. cant find any decent info on it either.

Edit: Al B seems to have posted a note on it at TPF http://theportforum.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 011#p63898 - scored it 90-92.

At that price, you are crazy not to buy a 6 pack unless you are set on recent vintages.

I am just about set on recent vintages. I'm thinking maybe 6 Warres, and then a few bargains if they show up, like this. But I didn't know enough to buy six.

I was somehow able to find Kopke for $40 and Cockburn for $50, though wo shipping.Moses Botbol wrote:At that price, you are crazy not to buy a 6 pack unless you are set on recent vintages.
Will hold off for more of those kinds of deals, and hopefully next time get 6-packs of them.

It's back, same deal as before.

Yep, it was deinitely the Maynard's. Decent but given what came from 2011, it was one of the weakest of the vintage. There's a reason why a 2011 VP is already being offloaded at WTSO.
The fact that (IIRC) the Wine Enthusiast gave this 96 points and I was at 86 is a fairly wide gap. We'll see what others think.
At that price, it is certainly worth taking a punt on two, but for the same money, I'd certainly prefer 1 great bottle of many other 2011 VP's.
