Last night we had the pleasure of sharing the evening with Chris Blandy, managing director for the Blandy’s family estate on the Portuguese Island of Madeira. Chris conducted an educational tasting of the different styles of vintage Malmsey, Sercial, Terrantez, Bual, and Verdelho. The taste, quality, and exceptional flavor of aged Madeira are favorites of the HDH staff and have a long history of connoisseurship dating back to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
Highlights from the tasting include the high acidity in the 1976 Terrantez and the ethereal 1968 Verdelho. Collectors should consider the ultra-rare magnums of the 1920 Bual for their cellars. We are pleased to offer access to these rare Madeira direct from the Blandy’s cellar. Quantities are extremely limited and subject to confirmation. Please contact us with your order.

Some very nice bottlings in that offer. Some of the prices seem a bit bloated given the age of these, but they will be ex-cellars bottles ... not as important as with Madeira as with most other types of wine.
