Facts about Port and Madeira, the ebook version.

Post by Eus Wust »

When reading about the history of Port or Madeira, Facts about Port and Madeira is undoubtedly one of the most referenced publications. It is a detailed account of an adventures journey to the Douro, Porto and Madeira made in 1877 by Henry and Ernest Vizetelly.

Their work was published in 1880, describing in a vivid and entertaining way the vineyards, people and methods involved in the production, storage and trade of Dourense and Madeirense fortified wines, illustrated by Ernest with 100 engravings.

An accurate reproduction in e-pub format, containing the account and accompanying engravings can be downloaded here.

Enjoy the read!

E.W. thanks for alerting us to this release. I have the original book and loved the read, many years ago. Nice and dusty now. [shrug.gif]
