TNR or Info on 2005 Prazo de Roriz Douro Red

Post by Raj Patil »

This wine showed up at a local liquor store, anyone have any info on it or can make a suggestion if I should by it and give it a whirl? About $20.

At 20$ I do think it is overprice. It is a simple candy/red berries flavoured red wine that tastes better slightly chill. I would not pay more than 15$ for this.

Hi Raj,

This info might be a little late but see my taste note on the 2004 vintage of this wine: http://www.fortheloveofport.com/ftlopfo ... php?t=3561

At $20 I'd probably pass on this wine. If you can find it for closer to $15 then I'd say it's worth a try.

OK  It happens sometimes, and I admit I made a mistake on the 2005 Prazo de Roriz. I've taste the 2005 2 times recently and have to say that they have increase the quality of this wine with this new release. In fact, all wines/port in 2005 from this estate are very good.

I was really surprised as the past release of Prazo were never tempting me to buy one bottle, well I've already bought 2 of 2005.
