A sweet deal on Warre's Port

Post by Roy Hersh »

A pretty sweet deal imo. Enjoy!

Whether you need good Port to cook with or sip this winter ... JJ Buckley offers this deal where buying 3 bottles is a great bargain. Call 'em at 888 85-wines

Warre's Warrior Special Reserve Port - $14.99 (or buy 3 or more and pay only $7.99 ea)Today's offer is an unbelievable value, but please note that the bottles have slightly scuffed labels.

Warre is one of the oldest producers of Port wine, that quintessential after-dinner drink, and their Warrior Special Reserve is one of the best deals that we have to offer in Port. The grapes for this non-vintage Port come from 25 year old vines and the wine is aged in casks for 4-5 years before bottling, which means that it is ready to open at any time.

This wine will easily please anybody with its dark, sweet fruit flavors and easy to drink, balanced style. It is the perfect follow up to a good meal and goes especially well with cheese, nuts, and fruit, but honestly, it is also superb on its own. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser, so this is a wine you will undoubtedly need multiples of. At this price, you are saving almost 50%, which is an amazing value you can't find anywhere else. Stock up now because this absolutely will not last at such an unbelievable price. Enjoy!

NV Warre Warrior Special Reserve Port 750ml - $14.99 (or buy 3 or more and pay only $7.99 ea)
Wine & Spirits, Apr 2006, 90 points: "Fresher in style than the Warrior of the '90s, this blend is bright and vibrant, filled with luscious fruit inflected by the black pepper of schisty tannins. It's like a small-scale vintage, beautifully balanced."
JJ Buckley, Sep 2007: "Dark ruby purple color. Sweet plum and dried fruit lifting out of the glass along with some dusty leathery notes. Persistent nose and perfume of black fruits entices the palate, consisting of blackberry, dried plums and dates with a hint of alluring raspberry peaking through creating a delightful, balanced wine. The finish is long and persistent with plenty of fruit and fine, dusty tannins. Enjoy the old world style with hard cheeses like aged Gouda and dried fruits, or Crème Brûlée and anything with chocolate." - Andy Frieden, JJ Buckley

Wow  Can't beat a solid sipper like Warrior for only $8/bottle! Too bad I don't live a bit closer to the border where a PO or somewhere to receive this stuff would be available... :?
