Child Turning 21: What to Open?

My daughter will turn 21 this weekend and to mark the occasion I have a choice between two bottles of 1994 VP in my cellar: Dow's and Churchill. Anyone have any suggestions as to which will be better?

Why not both?

If one is a must, I would open the Dow.

The Dow is a legend, never had the Churchill's, but would imagine that is a good one too.

The Churchill will be the faster maturing of the two. If you plan on giving her the other bottle, or keeping it to give to her later, I'd save the Dow's for later and open the Churchill's now. If it doesn't matter and you want to give her a very special experience the Dow's VP is an amazing bottle. I don't know her drinking experience or likes, so my only concern with the Dow's is it may be too young still and overtly tannic showing for most newer wine drinkers. The Churchill is a bit softer and more approachable now.

I agree with Andy; the Dow is barely ready yet and will benefit from a few more years before entering its drinking window, even for those who like their port on the younger side; the Churchill is more advanced and I think has probably entered its drinking window for those who prefer them young; as such I would suggest opening the Churchill for your occasion.

Ditto to the folks saying Churchills. I'm having to pick one for my younger brother, who is also a '94 baby, this year and have shied away from the Dows with how young it showed in our '94 horizontal last year.
