TN: 2007 Niepoort Batuta Douro red

Post by David Spriggs »

First bottle from an unopened case. 2 hour decant. Wonderful nose. Black cherry and cranberry palate. This strikes me as an excellent hot year Duoro, and more of fruit driven wine than a highly structured wine. Good acidity, and a bit monolithic. But what is there is excellent. No reason to wait! I'll be drinking these up sooner than later. 94 points.

Glad you liked it. I have tried differant decanting times of the 2007 Batuta, and ended up with 6 hrs.
Suggest you try longer than two hrs next time.
