TN:2004 Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional

Post by David Spriggs »

Dark color. Decanted 2 hours. This is still young. It has lost some of the youthful chocolate nose and palate and now is showing much more balanced sour cherry and pomegranate. Big entry. I do get some suggestions of oak, but it's not dominate. Dense and still quite young. Opened slowly over that next 2 hours and was quite popular. Extremely long finish. This wine has not faded at all over the last few years and has actually approved. Less bombastic and more balanced overall. Certainly 5 more years is fine and probably still be very good in 10 years. This isn't quite at the level of the 2001, but it's *VERY* close. WONDERFUL! 95 points
