1977 Vintage Port list

Post by Peter Wood »

I'm looking for a list of port houses that declared in 1977, with a view to conducting a horizontal tasting. Can anyone add to the list that I've already got?

Taylor, Graham, Fonseca, Warre, Dow, Niepoort (confirmation please!), Kopke, Offley Boa Vista, Feuerheerd, Quarles Harris, Croft, Delaforce, Ferreira, Sandeman & Calem.

Thanks
Peter

I have a Royal Oporto in my cellar, so there's another one for you.

Hi Peter,

Add Feist to your list.

It would be great if you would go to the PORT BASICS FORUM and introduce yourself there in the very first thread. That way, all of our participants could have a chance to learn more about our enjoyment of Port and welcome you.

Best regards,

Roy Hersh

Peter,

If you are holding a serious horizontal, and ask them very very nicely, you might persuade Cockburn to let you have a bottle of their 'undeclared' '77.

Although they didn't formally declare '77, they did bottle a stash, and have been known to donate bottles to tastings (most recently at the event kindly hosted by Joost in Utrecht earlier this month)
