For general information, a major Portuguese Wines Tasting is going to take place at the Vinopolis - [www.vinopolis.co.uk] in London on March 14, 2006.

This Tasting is meant for all Portuguese Wine except for Port !!!
Nevertheless, this event will represent a great opportunity for Londoners to taste some fine :) Portuguese "juices".

Last year the Annual London Portuguese Wine Tasting drove about 50 wine producers.
On due time I will be happy to post in this thread an update of Wine Exhibitors that will be attending the March 14 London Tasting.
PORTugal, One Country, 800 Years of History, 11 Distinct Regions plus Azores and Madeira, and Thousands of Wines :-)

ANNUAL TASTING OF PORTUGUESE WINES
Tuesday 14th March 2006, The Great Halls, Vinopolis

Meet a passionate new generation

It’s earlier than in previous years and at a new venue! It was decided to move the Annual Tasting to an earlier date to give you, the buyers, a better opportunity to look closely at Portugal for your 2006 listings. And we are delighted to announce that the event will be in the Great Halls at Vinopolis – easy to get to by tube (London Bridge station) and with parking in the vicinity (for more venue information see http://www.vinopolis.co.uk ).

You will be able to taste wines at more than 40 tables, talk to the leading importers of Portuguese wines, discover new producers who are looking for representation in the UK or who sell direct and taste a variety of Portuguese foods in the new FOOD HALL.

Taste more than wine at the Annual Tasting

This year, in a separate hall from the wine tasting, you will have the opportunity to taste a wide selection of food from Portugal. Portuguese gastronomy is influenced by the Atlantic in the north and by the Mediterranean in the south. Portugal has developed a rich and varied indigenous cuisine, as well as a variety of new ingredients imported by the Portuguese colonists during the centuries of new world exploration.

Do you want to import your own Portuguese wines?

There will be producers at the Annual Tasting who are looking for UK representation. All their wines have been through a pre-selection process organised by Wines of Portugal and a panel of the UK’s leading journalists and consultants, so that you can be sure they meet strict quality criteria. So if you are looking for something unique for your list – come to the annual tasting and discover the diversity Portugal has to offer.
