This would make a fun and odd tasting...all these below grade Ports. Would have to follow with something really good.

Maybe for your Jan 10-11 event??

The 1972 Offley can be very variable. I've had good bottles (good = perfectly acceptable drinking) and bad bottles (bad = drinkable, no flaws, just not really any better than an entry level ruby). Don't write them off completely, especially if you have any nieces or nephews you can pass it on to with the story, "This came from your great-great aunt Flo and has been in the family for three generations. She wanted you to have it so I've kept it unopened for the last 30 years."

An excellent Idea, Alex. I shall keep it as a sword of Damocles to hang over the next generation in case they displease me in later years !

Just tried one this past Saturday. Wasn't bad at all for my palate. It is very mature as this point but mild and smooth. Scored around 88/89.
