The 1972 Offley can be very variable. I've had good bottles (good = perfectly acceptable drinking) and bad bottles (bad = drinkable, no flaws, just not really any better than an entry level ruby). Don't write them off completely, especially if you have any nieces or nephews you can pass it on to with the story, "This came from your great-great aunt Flo and has been in the family for three generations. She wanted you to have it so I've kept it unopened for the last 30 years."
