Re: What have you opened this week?
It's 75-80F in my back garden today and I've spent a lot of time catching up with some of the projects that I've had ongoing. Desperately in need of something enjoyable to drink, I put a half bottle of Skeffington 2009 in the fridge and have just popped and poured. It is delicious! Dense and fruity and really cold. Yum!!

Re: What have you opened this week?
It has been about the same in my back garden, and garage, for the past few days. Yesterday I noticed that one of my four wine fridges in the garage seems to have lost its temperature control at some point in the recent past. The fridge was packed with half bottles of Croft 2004 LBV. I opened one yesterday, which was cooked. I opened another this eveningAl B. wrote:It's 75-80F in my back garden today

I hope these were bad bottles, otherwise I will be doing lots of Port based cooking for the remainder of 2012

That seems lovely and cool from my perspective. Yet another day over 110F today...Al B. wrote:It's 75-80F in my back garden today

1983 Smith Woodhouse VP, 375ml. Cork was in better shape and it smells fresher than the last bottle from this purchase.

Let us know when you post your tasting note on this port. I was really wowed - and you know how unusual it is for a colheita to impress me that much! I'm interested to read your thoughts and comments on this wine.Roy Hersh wrote:1952 Graham's Reserve

I'd love to get my hands on a bottle of this, but with the amount BBR charges to ship to the US, on top of the already high price of this bottle, it's just not going to happen.
Re: What have you opened this week?
Its raining at 10C today - perfect for the Jubilee celebrations. What could be more British than carrying on despite the rain.
So today I have open a half bottle of Cavadinha 1987.

Today it's cold and raining. I've just opened a bottle of Churchil Crusted, bottled 1984 to cheer myself up.

I guess if I didn't live in Colorado, I might drink Port more often.Al B. wrote:Today it's cold and raining. I've just opened a bottle of Churchil Crusted, bottled 1984 to cheer myself up.

1967 Cockburn to share with the London Port crew as we said goodbye to the waitress who has looked after us so well at The Bunghole for the last 6 months.

Good for you. But the 3 Centuries is a big gun to me. I need to try that some time.Phyllis D wrote:I think we may have converted a non-Port drinker over to the dark sidethat night, and we didn't even have to pull out the BIG guns.

1977 Royal Oporto Colheita. Very nice ... but my last bottle of this. Still one more 1975, though.
